CharlotteJonesAnderson,87,passedawaypeacefullyathomeinhersleepandjoinedher eternalcompaniononAugust12,2016,inTaylorsville,Utah.Shewassurroundedbyherloving family. Charlotte was born March 21, 1929, to Mary Alice Warr and Willard James Jones at home in a place they called Bello's Crossing, in present-day Hunter, Utah. She was the youngest of seven children, completing their family. She was the baby and all of her older siblings adored her. They grew up on a farm and worked hard. Her grandchildren loved to hear about how Charlotte could kill a chicken with her bare hands and de-feather it with no problem. MusicwasalwaysabigpartofCharlotte'slife.ShestudiedvocalsattheMcCuneMansionin SaltLakeCityforseveralyears,takinga5rideontheBambergerTrolleytogetthere.Shetook voicelessonsuntilshegraduatedfromCypressHighSchoolandwenttoBrighamYoung University,whereshestudiededucationandclassicalvoice.Shemarriedhersweetheart,Edwin CurtisAnderson,onAugust21,1950,inLasVegas,andlatertheyweresealedintheSaltLake LDSTemple.Aftertheyweremarried,shestoppedattendingschoolandworkedtoputher husbandthroughcollegeattheUniversityofUtah.Whenheearnedhisdegreeinmechanical engineering,Curtencouragedhiswifetoreturnandfinishherschooling.Shedidandearneda bachelor'sineducationfromBYU.HerloveoftheCougarsneverfadedandshefaithfully cheeredontheirfootballteamthroughoutherlife(andprobablyintotheeternities). Shecontinuedsingingnotonlyswingmusicwithherhusband'sband,theCurtAnderson Orchestra,butalsoclassicalmusic.Sheperformedatstakeconferences,funerals,sacrament meetingsandeventheUtahGovernor'sBall. Charlotte served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as chorister, Relief Society president and seminary teacher. She taught elementary school in Monticello for 10 years before retiring to Taylorsville with her sweetheart, whom she nursed lovingly during his 17-year battle with Alzheimer's. He passed away in 1997. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling from coast to coast in the United States and onto Israel, Jordan, Peru, and many other places including LDS Church History sites. She loved family history and LDS Church history and belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. working hard in her chapter, even serving as president for a time. Charlottewasknownforherspunkandfunpersonalityaswellasherloveforall.Sheis precededindeathbyherhusband;twograndsons;and4siblings.Sheissurvivedbyherchildren: ClaudetteBorrowman(Wayne), NathanAnderson(Melissa), EricAnderson(Daralynn), Phyllis Steele(Flint), andJoleneHiatt(Steve);aswellas30grandchildren;and34great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016, 12:00 noon, at Bernina Ward LDS Building, 3045 West Bernina Dr. Viewings will be held Wednesday, August 17th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Thursday prior to services at the church from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park.
