Chau Ngo

Ngo Thi Mai Chau, 51, our beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, and grandmother passed away on Monday December 18, 2023, at IMC with her family at her bedside after battling many complicated health issues in the past few years. Chau was born on November 15, 1972, in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak, Vietnam to Ngo Ton Kinh and Hao Thi Pham.

Chau is survived by her three daughters Tina Ngo, Leena Ngo, Jackie Tran; husband Lam Tran; mother Hao Thi Pham; her 6 siblings, and 2 granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her father Ngo Ton Kinh and her eldest brother Ngo Ton Trong.

Chau, along with her parents and two brothers Ngo Jason and Ngo Peter first arrived in the United States in 1992 though U.S. government sponsorship to start a new life away from Vietnam where her father served the South Vietnam army and escaped the concentration camps. Although Chau was never able to complete much education due to conflict in her country, Chau was renowned for her trailblazing businesses that led the way for her family.

Chau is best known for her intelligence, independence, hard work ethic, kindness, generosity, her eagerness to share good food and experiences with everyone around her, and her undoubtful love for the casinos of Las Vegas. She has touched the lives of so many from her family, friends, and her primary business: Pho Hoa Restaurant of Salt Lake City, Utah. In her last few years, Chau followed in her mother's footsteps by studying and practicing Buddhism and found great joy in spending time with her family and traveling.

Chau has touched many lives in the community, her viewing and funeral will be open to the public. She is and will be missed dearly. We love you forever mom.

Viewing will be held on Friday December 29, 2023, 8:30am-5:00pm

Funeral will be held on Saturday December 30, 2023, 8:00am-12pm

Both will be held at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah
