Cheryl Ann Waterfall

January 31, 1939 - March 21, 2025

Cheryl Ann Waterfall (née Haselman), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, in West Jordan, Utah, at the age of 86. She was born on January 31, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul and Norma Haselman.

Cheryl lived a beautiful life full of love, service, and devotion. She was a woman of quiet strength, compassionate wisdom, and unwavering faith. Her home was a place of warmth and kindness, and she found joy in uplifting others-especially her family, who meant the world to her.

She was the devoted wife of Louis Kemp Waterfall, whom she married on February 29, 1956. Their marriage was a beautiful example of lasting love and devotion. On February 28, 1989, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their love for each other and their shared faith stood as a powerful testament to their enduring commitment-both to one another and to the gospel.

Together, Cheryl and Louis raised four children: Louann Dunn (DeVon), Audrey Bawden Ryan (Keith), Kemp Waterfall (Shirley), and Kirk Waterfall. Cheryl's heart grew with every generation, and she was a proud grandmother to Jeremiah Dunn, Joshua Dunn, Emilie Scow, Tara Mabrey, Brennan Bawden, Kadence Eaton, Heather Ruttinger, Cameron Bawden, Whitney Conrood, Cole Waterfall, Melissa Jackson, and Jennifer Taylor. Her love extended to 39 great-grandchildren and one cherished great-great-granddaughter, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Norma Haselman; her siblings, Gordon Haselman and Jeanie Haselman; and her beloved grandson, Dustin Bawden. Their memories were kept close to her heart, and she often shared their stories with tenderness and love.

A lifelong and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cheryl lived her faith through quiet, consistent service and Christlike love. She spent many years working at the Family History Center, where she joyfully helped others discover their roots and connect with loved ones long passed. Her knowledge, patience, and gentle encouragement brought countless individuals closer to their ancestors and to their own sense of belonging.

In addition, Cheryl served faithfully at the Church History Museum, where she taught others about the gospel and shared her deep love for the Church's history and teachings. With every visitor she greeted and every story she told, Cheryl radiated warmth, conviction, and kindness. She had a special way of making people feel seen, uplifted, and inspired, and her dedication to sharing the message of the restored gospel touched many lives.

Cheryl's faith was not just something she practiced-it was something she lived. Whether through church callings, compassionate service, or heartfelt conversations, she brought light and love into the lives of those around her.

Cheryl's love for family extended beyond genealogy. She cherished traveling with loved ones, spending sunny days at Lake Powell, and snowmobiling through the snowy trails of Yellowstone. A gifted seamstress, Cheryl lovingly made clothing for her children and created blankets for her grandchildren-each piece stitched with care and affection, a tangible expression of her love that will continue to comfort her family for years to come.

Above all, Cheryl will be remembered for her deep love of family. She delighted in sharing stories from her childhood, creating connections across generations, and making every person feel valued and loved. Her legacy is one of faith, strength, service, and a heart full of grace.
