Chester Howard Ingram Jr. was born October 10, 1930 in Clarksburg, West Virginia and passed away peacefully at his home in Kearns, Utah on July 17, 2017. Chester was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved life, his family and friends. Chester joined the Navy in 1948 and served 4 years in the 6th Fleet European Occupational force during the Korean Conflict. He was especially honored to be able to serve on the USS Midway. After his Navy service, he attended Business College in Clarksburg, West Virginia where he met and married Maryland Virginia Dye on September 20, 1953 in Grantsville, West Virginia. Maryland was the love of his life and his best friend. Chester and Maryland moved their family to Salt Lake City, Utah where they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple on June 20, 1962. Chester was employed at Hazel-Atlas, Canners for Coca Cola and Hercules Incorporated. Chester had a passion for teaching the gospel; he enjoyed reading, collecting books, music, playing the guitar, family history work, visiting people and was a true Sportsman in the outdoors. Making friends came very easy to him where ever he went and he was a great listener and communicator. He loved each and every one of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He cherished his time with them and felt close to all of them. Chester was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions throughout his life. Particular mention: Stake Mission President, Seventy President and Counselor in the Bishopric in the Kearns 14th Ward of the Kearns, Utah Stake". Chester is preceded in death by his wife, Maryland Virginia Dye; son Lesley Wayne Ingram; and his mother and father, Chester H Ingram Sr. And Ressie Ruth Smith Ingram. He is survived by his children, Bruce Ingram, Jennifer (Randall) Forbes, Stephanie (Kent) Wilkey and Marc (Mindy) Ingram; sister Mary Ingram Musgrave; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Chester H. Ingram Jr. Was a friend to all and he will be missed by all. He leaves a lifetime of wonderful memories that will remain forever in our hearts. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at Kearns 14th Ward, 4232 West 5015 South. Viewings will be held Thursday, July 20th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and prior to services at the church from 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
