Clara Alida Steinfeldt Jorgensen

June 22, 1929 — September 24, 2014

Clara Alida Steinfeldt Jorgensen "Pinky" peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, after having lived a diligent and valiant life. She was born June 22, 1929, to Paul J. and Alida Steinfeldt. She is survived by her eternal companion and life-long sweetheart of 66 years, Jack R. Jorgensen. She is also survived by her three daughters, Jan (Richard) Newbold, Marci (our late and beloved Craig) Blight, and Becky (Jeff) Hogan; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Rieka Smith; and brother, Marlin Steinfeldt. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Kenneth, Richard, Herman, Paul and Alida. Besides a life of kindness and unconditional love, Clara was an accomplished artist, seamstress, cook (famous for the best English toffee known to mankind!), artisan, poised and knowledgeable speaker with a profound understanding of gospel principles and a deep, abiding testimony of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and lastly, her meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of her life. Clara dedicated her life in service to others, from faithful service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to her extraordinary kindness and devotion to her husband, children, and grandchildren, who were the greatest joy of her life, to extended family and many friends. Her legacy truly will be her profound example of service to others. Pinky, as she is widely known, received this name as a result of giving baby bottles filled with pink kool-aid to her young grandchildren. Soon she became known to these grandchildren as the Pink-grandma, which then evolved to the lovely name of Pinky. She will be remembered by this not because of how this name came to be, but because she has always made our world pink.
