Clarence August Erspamer (Clary The Barber)

February 26, 1923 — March 14, 2016

Our beloved Father, Grandfather, and friend passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 93 years old and celebrated his birthday with family eating 3 pieces of cake and 2 helpings of ice cream. Our father was born to Italian immigrants, Ernest August Erspamer and Elvira Borzaga Erspamer, February 26, 1923 in Chisholm, Minnesota. He had 6 brothers and 2 sisters and grew up in Chisholm, moving to Bremerton, Washington to volunteer in the shipyards in WWII. He had the great opportunity of hearing President Franklin D. Roosevelt speak to him and the others in the Bremerton shipyard. Our Father moved to Los Angeles, California where he met his soul mate, Wanda Thornton. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 20, 1945. They lived in Los Angeles where Dad worked for UPS and attended barber school. A few years later they moved to Granger, Utah, where Dad barbered for 72 years. Dad loved his family more than life itself and would do anything for us. Dad loved his McDonald's buddies and will miss his mornings with them. Dad is preceded in death by his darling wife, Wanda, who he missed so deeply every day; his sons Bruce John (Jane), and Paul William (Margaret); parents; all brothers and sisters. He is survived by children, Julie Anne (Garth) Samuels, Ernest Clarence (Herad Sanders), Shirley Mustard, and Karen Jolley; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. We want to thank Horizon Hospice for the loving care they gave to our Father and Grandfather. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, March 19, 2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where a viewing will be held prior to services, 1:00-1:45 p.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
