How do we express our love and appreciation for the woman that gave us life? Our beautiful, warm, caring Mom passed peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2022, at her home of 62 years.

On February 12, 1934, Claudia was born in Salt Lake City, UT, to Mont and Edith Clement. She was raised in Salt Lake City and attended South High School. She loved to dance, primarily ballet, and often spoke about how her teacher once made her do 34 Fouettes.

She often spoke of her beloved dogs growing up, with her favorite being a cocker spaniel named Skippy. In her teenage years, she explored the fun and exciting Salt Lake downtown of the 1950s. Cruising State Street, diners, soda shops, and Auerbachs, where she worked. During one of her shifts at Auerbachs, a young man came shopping for "who knows what," our mom said. Later they met again, and he asked her out on a date. This chance meeting turned into the love of her life.

On May 15, 1953, she married Harold Von Jensen and had four children. They were married for 63 years before his passing in 2017. They loved fishing together, traveling in their motorhome, having a second honeymoon in Hawaii, made a road trip to the edge of Alaska and back, and did some cruises with family. Mom loved The Duke, listening to Ol’ Blue Eyes, shopping and lunch dates with her friends, and playing cards with her Pinnacle club.  In her later years, she enjoyed watching old western movies even though she’d seen them hundreds of times before.  She was active in her city’s Neighborhood Watch Program for over 20 years and worked for the Oscar E Chytrus company for over 10 years. Her most cherished accomplishments are her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mom is survived by her four children, Leslee (Arnold), Pam (Dena), Terree (Kevin), and Marvin, five grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Von Jensen, brother Gilbert Clement and parents Mont and Edith Clement.
