Clifford Blaine Burton, known as Blaine, passed away on June 29, 2024, at the age of 95 in Kearns, Utah. Born on September 28, 1928, in Park City, Utah, to Flora Giles and Loyd Taylor Burton, Blaine was a cherished member of a large family, including his twin brother Wayne and siblings Theresa, Phyllis, Judy, and Loyd Jr., the latter being his only surviving sibling.

Blaine's early years were spent in South Salt Lake, where he was an active member of the Burton Ward. He attended Granite High School class of 1947 and went on to attend the University of Utah. His commitment to service was evident early on as he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas and Louisiana from 1949 to 1950. He continued his service to his country by serving in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.

On January 22, 1951, Blaine married his beloved wife, Ardith Sheffield, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, a union blessed with 13 children: Greg (Susan), Kerry (Betty), Tona, Deena (Rick), Garr, Darci, Dirk (Janet), Fara (Jim), Trent (Tawna), Gina (Toby), Maria (Scott), Tricia (Greg), Carla (Joseph) and two foster children: Carmen (Kent) and Carmella (Bruce). His professional life was dedicated to Buehner Concrete where he worked for 35 years. Blaine's life was marked by his devout faith and active involvement in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many leadership positions including Bishop and High Council Member and serving on two additional missions with his wife focused on substance abuse recovery and employment services.

Blaine was a man who loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, and especially sharing "Dad" jokes with friends and family. His commitment to his faith and community was unwavering. He lived independently until his final months, after celebrating his 95th birthday, he faced a challenging battle with cancer, during which he was lovingly cared for by his family and hospice.

Blaine is preceded in death by his wife Ardith, his son Garr, his infant daughter Darci, sons-in-law Rick and Scott, and leaves behind a legacy through his 42 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren, who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kearns South Stake, 5905 S 4000 W, Taylorsville, Utah, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10 am, preceded by a viewing from 9 - 9:45 am.
