November 7, 1926 — June 7, 2018

Our mother, sister, and grandmother, Colleen Rae Peterson Scow, passed away June 07, 2018, at age 91. She was born November 7th, 1926, in Milburn, Utah, to James Goldie and Mabel Mower Peterson and was one of seven children. Her sister Alene and brothers Glade, Cloyd and Nyle preceded her in death, along with her husband of 65 years Douglas Gene Scow. Colleen is survived by her brother Gerrit (Winona), sister Rhonda (Stephen) Lee and sister -in-law, Jeanne Peterson, three children, Vickie (Bob) Samuelson, Doug (Patty), Kevin (Belinda) Scow, eleven grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Colleen spent her early years growing up in the Sanpete Valley. She toured and sang Opera along side of her brother Glade, until she met and married her husband Doug. They settled in the Salt Lake Valley and she worked as a PBX operator for several companies. She went on to own and operate her own nail salon, until she retired. Colleen loved to embroider, sew and would spend hours ironing with her Ironrite. When she and Doug moved to Majestic Meadows Retirement Park, they belonged to a dance club and they traveled the country on bus tours, with other family members. Colleen was an avid reader and one hell of a cook. She will always be remembered for the many Thanksgiving meals she prepared, that brought our entire family together for football, turkey and her unforgettable "good brown gravy."
