Colleen Young Staker, 84, passed away Oct. 20, 2016, at her son's home in Erda, Utah. She was born in Blackfoot, Idaho, Oct, 2, 1932, to Leonard Kane and Hattie May Peterson Young. She married Walter Lyman Staker June 15, 1955, In the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She graduated from American Fork High School and BYU. She served in the Thailand Bangkok LDS Mission, and served in numerous other capacities in the LDS Church, including as Relief Society General Board member and Jordan River Temple worker. She is survived by her seven children, Steven Staker, Michelle Kumaraa, Julie Lusk, Mark Staker, Joseph Staker, Michael Staker, and Carolynn Lambert; thirty grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Eva Wright. Preceded in death by her husband; and four siblings, Orval, Dennis, Norma, and Kennie. Funeral will be held Sat., Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. in the Jordan North 4th Ward Chapel, 4270 S. Falcon St. (4145 West), West Valley. A viewing will be held Fri., Oct. 28, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd. and one hour before services at the church. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park. Before her passing, Colleen requested - "In place of flowers, please buy a treat for your family."
