Dale M Ratcliffe, 83 passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 19, 2024. Dale was born to his parents Ira Hale Ratcliffe and Nora Smith at their home in a small town just outside of Roanoke VA., in the afternoon on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1941.

He was the 10th of 12 children in his family, 7 sisters and 4 brothers. He moved with his family to Bountiful Ut., in May,1949, at the age of 8 where he made lifelong friendships.

He earned his Eagle Scout at age 14 in May, 1955, and graduated from Bountiful High School in the class of 1959. He served in the Utah National Guard 19th special forces where he became a green beret. He also served in the US Army Reserve and the US Air Force Reserve where he was stationed at Hill Air Force Base.

He attended Weber State University for 2 years specializing in diesel engine mechanics. He went to work for Wheeler Machinery in 1968 where he worked for 35 years, retiring in February 2003.

Dale really enjoyed being outdoors, camping and hunting. His hobbies included working on his antique cars and his guns. He spent countless hours taking care of and tinkering on his cars. He also loved his guns, many of which he had most of his life.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where his faith led him to the hope of an afterlife of being with his family and his Savior Jesus Christ. His most prized possession was his small immediate family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Nora Ratcliffe and all 11 of his siblings. He is survived by his sons Kim (Laurie) Ratcliffe and Ryan M Ratcliffe; grandchildren: Nickolas (Allison) Ratcliffe, Michelle Germer, Joshua (Emina ) Ratcliffe, Alyssa Woodward, and other grandchildren whose names are unavailable; great-grandchildren: Abigail and Alaina Ratcliffe, Birkley and Cooper Robison; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah. A viewing will be held 11-12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah prior to the graveside services.
