Dale Leron Richards

1945 ~ 2023

Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Dale Leron Richards, passed away on July 27, 2023, at his home in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Dale fought a valiant fight with cancer.

He was born May 11, 1945, in Kearns, Utah, to Dale J. and June Richards.

He graduated from Granger High School as the school's first graduating class in 1963. He married his first wife (Ruth) in August, 1963.  He had two children, and lived most of his life in West Valley City, Utah. He began a 40 year career of working for the Union Pacific soon after marriage.

Dale was an avid Raiders fan, a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do, and was a hardworking, dedicated family man. He married his second wife (Claudia Pearson) on July 4, 2012, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, and spent his remaining years developing an interest in gemstones, bird watching, and visiting some beautiful places across the world. He enjoyed the many adventures he was able to go on.

Dale is survived by his two children, Dale and Debbie (Rick) Andrus; seven grandchildren, Dart, Dean, Carter, Kala, Shaylie, Brooklyn and Brody. His second wife, Claudia; her children, Darci, Nicole, Chad; one grandchild Kristel, and his remaining sister and three brothers.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth; father, mother, and one sister.

In lieu of a funeral, there will be a Celebration of Life held at his home in Cottonwood Heights, Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
