Dan M. Cavanee 1948 ~ 2012 Dan Michael Cavanee, age 64, of West Jordan, Utah, passed away December 19, 2012 at home after a long battle with MS. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, October 8, 1948, to William and Merna Cavanee. Attended Cyprus High School. He married Marlene Haskell February 8, 1968. Served his country with the US Army in Viet Nam. Worked as a conductor for Kennecott for many years. He loved golf, camping, playing pool and baseball. He loved watching his boys play in many sports and enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marlene; 3 sons Christopher (Tiffany), Riverton, UT; Brian (Kadee), Pocatello, ID; Steven (Tanya), West Jordan, UT; 6 grandchildren: Jordyn, Shane, Paisley, Carli, Trevor, Brentlee. Preceded in death by daughter Michelle; brother, Ray; and his parents. Many thanks to all the people at the Veterans Hospital who took loving care of Dan, especially Kristy, all the home care nurses and aides, his special hospice care from Darren and Dr. John Dietlein, and to all the his many friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Friday, December 21, 2012, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 12-12:45 p.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.4335 West 4100 South.
