January 1, 1928 — September 14, 2013

Daphene Jarvis 1928 ~ 2013 Irie Daphene Bailey Jarvis completed her earthly service September 14, 2013. She was born in Gilmer, Texas on January 1, 1928 to Luther Howard and Viola Echo Bowers Bailey. Mom grew up in Gilmer, TX and Mesa, AZ. She attended Mesa Union High where she met her eternal sweetheart, Wesley Dwight Jarvis. They were married in the Mesa AZ Temple on Sunday, June 2, 1946. They were blessed with 5 girls and 2 boys. Mom was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she followed her Savior's example by serving faithfully and compassionately in any capacity whether it was her church, community or family. She welcomed, taught and blessed all the family, friends and strangers that entered her life, willing to share a delicious meal, a clean bed and a listening ear. Mom served her family unconditionally, especially her precious daughter Karen. We know they are now rejoicing in their glorious reunion. Mom had the opportunity to serve a mission with her sweetheart in Adam-ondi-Ahman. They treasured this time of being together and serving the Lord. Our greatest memories of Mom are her laughter, beautiful smiles and lovely singing voice. We will also cherish our parents holding hands and sharing their testimonies which will forever be their legacy. She is survived by her sweetheart of 67 years, Wesley Dwight Jarvis; daughters, Lynda (Lauritz) Smith, Renae (Bart) Mangum, Sheri Jarvis, Shana Butz and son, Glenn (Lori) Jarvis; also survived by brother, Arnold Bailey; 6 brothers in-law and special sister in-law, Susann Jarvis; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and many other family and friends who she loved dearly.
