Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 2, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frederick J. Cooke and Rebecca Adeline Horne; she was the youngest of six children. She met her husband, Raymond Bryan Chapman, on a blind date and they were married a few months later on September 14, 1957 in Elko, Nevada. Together they had two daughters and a son.
She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed crocheting, collecting match box cars and dolls. She was an active member in her church and was known for her kindness and patience. She shared an 87-year friendship with her best friend Lawanna Redmond Wilkenson.
Darlene is survived by her children: Carolyn C. Stoops and Annie Nielsen VanDunk (Nicholas), and David B. Chapman; grandchildren Jason, Shallie, Jacob (Heidi), Brandon, Ashley; 18 great-grandchildren; and her best friend Lawanna.
Preceded in death by her husband Raymond B. Chapman; and parents.
