Our beloved mother and friend, Darlene June Thompson Meador, left this life unexpectedly on March 7, 2015, at the age of 58. Darlene was born on March 13,1956, in West Virginia. Darlene had a talent when it came to sewing and often times was asked to assist in making wedding dresses and other similar items, Darlene loved making dresses for her two daughters when they were little, as well as for her grand daughters. Darlene also enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking along with writing poetry, She had a love for doll collecting and she was a avid Nascar fan! Darlene had many talents that included photography and cookin. Darlene was enrolled in college for the past three years at Ashford University. She was on the deans list and a member of the Golden Key honor society. Darlene had a tremendous love for her children and grandchildren, along with her sisters Tressey (Juan) Huron and Robin Cook, and her best friend, Tonya (Nick) Hamby, and many, many more . Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Zelma Agnes Thompson. She is survived by her sons, Brandon Jones, Nicholas (Alissa) Dalton, and Colton Hooley; daughters, Stephanie (Rick) Hoover, and Cedar Collins (Devin Singh); and ten grandchildren that she held close to her heart, Taneesha, Chase, Austin, Paris, Landen, Rylie , Lyric, Kaylee, Sean, and Ally . A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, At Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville.
