Great grandmother Darlene Lloyd Simmons passed away Easter Sunday April 20 2025. She was born May 29, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wanda Mason Lloyd and Ivan Thomas Lloyd.
She graduated from West High and attended the University of Utah.
She married Kenyon Taylor Simmons on August 15, 1959. Later divorced. They had 4 children.
She worked as a secretary at Franklin Elementary so she could be home with her children more often. After retiring from the school district she worked for Marriott and Jet blue and loved traveling.
She loved her Savior and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints and served in many callings and endured to the end of her life.
She was a devoted strong democrat who loved her country. She loved her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by 3 children Deeann (Kirk), Ron (Lori), and Shelley (Rick). 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; her brother Tom (Carolyn). Preceded in death by parents, brother and daughter Jennifer.
The family would like to thank the staff members at Rosewood assisted living for caring for her these past few years. Thank you to Hospice Cascade Springs. We are also grateful for those who spent the last days/hours with her especially her grandson Nick who spent several nights with her.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, 11:00 a.m. with a viewing 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
