David Bruce Wasmer

David Bruce Wasmer was born on October 6, 1949 and died on July 30, 2016. David passed away peacefully at Jordan Valley Hospital from pneumonia and other complications while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Tooele, Utah and is the son of Orem and Ramona Wasmer. David was a special needs child who was loved, cherished, and cared for by his mother and father at home for 41 years. He faced more challenges in his life than anyone can imagine and his mom and dad accepted and loved him as the perfect child he was in their eyes. Even though his communication skills were limited, we all learned about love, compassion and understanding from him. We can only imagine the joy he now shares being reunited with his parents, and loved ones. They are now able to completely communicate with each other for the first time. David touched many lives and he will be missed by all. In 1990, he found a second home at the West Jordan Care Center and he thrived in this new community. A special thanks to the staff at the Care Center for their loving care and attention for David. It takes special people to care for special needs people and words are not adequate to express our appreciation to them. David is survived by sister Lynda (Jack) Mitchell; brother Brent (Sandy) Wasmer; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2016, at 12:00 noon, at Valley View Memorial Estates, 4100 South 4400 West, West Valley City, Utah.
