David Homer Adams

March 15, 1938 — October 4, 2016

Born on March 15, 1938 in Glendale, California to Homer Rance Adams and La Grace Gessel Adams. Died on October 4, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah David attended Alta Loma Elementary in Los Angeles, California, Osborne Elementary in Phoenix, Arizona and Forrest Elementary, Irving Jr. High, South High in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from the U of U with a Bachelor's degree in education and completed most of a Master's Degree. He was a photographer in high school, the US Air Force, North Las Vegas Police Department and EIMCO Corp. David's major career was thirty-four years with the US Postal Service retiring in 1992 as a Transportation Specialist. David married Marian Tobiason, later divorced. They had a son Tony. He then married Beverly Graham Atkinson in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for forty-three years until her death in January 2005. In August of that year he married a longtime friend Karen Brinkerhoff Lee, the widow of his best friend from Jr. High and High School. David had a total of eight children: Darlene, Tony, Mike (Connie), Dan (Janette), Judd (BJ), Martha, Janine Howard (Ben) and Michelle Covington (Mark); thirty-five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverly; brother Todd; daughters, Martha, Darlene, Janine; and grandchildren, Matthew and Esther Howard, James Troy and Howard Allen Debenham. David was an activate member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings. He was an instructor and teacher in many organizations for many years, and served as a Stake Family History Specialist The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the staff of Life Care Center. We are truly grateful for the excellent care, and the kindness they showed both us and David in his final days here on this earth. Funeral services will be held, Monday, October 10, 2016, 11:00 a.m., at Murray 24th Ward, 755 E. Three Fountains Cir. (4900 S). Viewings will be held Sunday, Oct. 9th, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and again prior to services at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E.
