Dawna Madsen

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Dawna Renae Truscott Madsen, age 86, passed away on October 6, 2022, surrounded by family.

She was born April 13, 1936, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Fern M. and Phyllis Reynolds Truscott. She married her high school sweetheart, Bruce Theron Madsen, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Manti Temple on October 12, 1956.

She graduated Snow College and held many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved spending time with her 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She loved being a mother and had many talents including quilting, knitting, crocheting, handwork, gardening, family history, and was an accomplished artist.

Preceded in death by her husband Bruce; parents Fern M. Truscott and Phyllis Reynolds Truscott; parent-in-laws Theron Kyle and Thelma Madsen; granddaughters Breanna Madsen and Anne Marie Madsen; grandsons Matthew Madsen, Alan Schwind and Nathan Madsen; sisters-in-law Gaye Lynne Miller and Patricia Madsen; brothers-in-law Dwayne Peterson, Jay Simpson, Donnell Madsen and Phillip Miller.

Survived by her children, Pattye Schwind, Julie (Tom) Hemsley, Ed (Linda) Madsen, Kyle Madsen, Angela (Dee Byergo) Beierle, and Valerie Mae Madsen; sisters JoAnne Peterson, Jeanne (Merrill) Madsen and Kathleen Simpson.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel on 6030 South Kamas Drive, Taylorsville, Utah. Interment will be at Spring City, Utah Cemetery at date to be determined.
