Dora Delene Ard, 95, passed away on August 11, 2024, in Draper, Utah.
Delene was born September 20, 1928, in Tremonton, Utah to Donal and Ella (Stokes) Baler. She spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Tetonia and Driggs, Idaho. She graduated from Teton High School. She met a handsome young man, Cleon Ard, whom she married on August 10, 1947, in Driggs, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on September 16, 1954. In 1955 they moved to Kearns, Utah where they raised their family of seven children.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held a variety of positions, including librarian, nursery leader, and primary teacher. She enjoyed singing in the ward choir. Later in life she participated in a temple sealing group with Cleon and fellow ward members.
Delene loved to make quilts and was sure to make a special one for each new grandchild as they came along, as well as many others for friends, family members, and neighbors.
Delene and Cleon enjoyed playing harmonicas together and were actively involved in a harmonica group at the Kearns Senior Center, The Harmoni-Katzz. They rehearsed and played with them for many years, delighting family and friends with their music.
Delene also enjoyed time watching competition shows at home such as America's Got Talent, The Voice, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and figure skating competitions and exhibitions.
Delene is survived by her son Kenneth (Raymie) Ard, her daughter Brenda Ard (Randy) Palmer, her son DeWayne (Kris) Ard, her daughter Shauna Ard (Mark) Petersen, and her son Brian Ard. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Delene is preceded in death by her husband, Cleon Ard, her father, Donal Baler, her mother, Ella Stokes Baler, two sisters, Irene and Larraine, two brothers, Derrald and Donal Glen, son, Keith Ard, and daughter, Colleen Ard Snow, as well as three granddaughters and one grandson.
A graveside service for Delene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 5, 2024, at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
