Delwin Samuel Wells (SAM), age 85 passed away peacefully at home of natural causes January 5, 2016 in Taylorsville UT. He was born in the small farming town of Victor Utah to George Ira Wells and Vivian Oviatt Wells on March 14, 1930 along with twin brother Delbert, who passed away a few weeks after birth. He suffered a serious farming accident at age 10 which resulted in losing his leg. He never considered himself handicapped or let this alter his active life style. Delwin married his sweetheart Norma Jean World, February 1, 1950 in Ely NV; later having their marriage sealed in the LDS temple in Manti 1951. Norma passed away in January 1967. Delwin was lucky enough to meet another wonderful lady, Renee Jones who had 3 wonderful daughters. They were married on June 20, 1967in the Salt Lake Temple.Later, Delwin adopted her daughters and the family became 8. He was an active member of the LDS church, serving in many callings over the years. He served in a stake mission in Carbon County, meeting and converting some wonderful families. After moving to Tayorsville he served in the Bishopric, on the High Council, and as a worker at the Jordan River Temple. He absolutely loved his callings and attending church. Along with his Father and brother Vard, they started a house moving business in Carbon County (Ira Wells and Sons, later changed to Wells House Moving) moving many homes from the old coal mining towns. As the business grew everyone moved to Taylorsville and over the years they moved everything from full mining towns to a full size swimming pool in five states. After moving an entire power plant from AZ to the Cottonwood mall, he went to work for Horman Cst. Owners of the mall running the plant. He then bought his own dump truck and went to work for an old friend Miller paving hauling asphalt. Sam's real passion was automobiles (cars and trucks alike) and his Arabian horses. He loved rebuilding or repairing cars in his shop in the back yard, family and friends would all bring their cars over for repair, which he loved and never considered it a burden just a challenge. At the end, when having only one leg made it difficult to walk, he really missed attending church meetings and being able to work out in his shop. Delwin is survived by is wife and care giver Renee; children Craig (Debbie) Wells, Leonette Wells, Paula (Terry) Smith, Sidney Williams, Teri Ann (Richard) Timpson, Valerie (Mark) McDougal; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother Vard Wells; sister Gwenda Arnold.
