Deniece D. Aldous "Loving Wife, Mom & Grandma" Deniece Davis Aldous, age 74, of West Valley City, Utah passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, October 5, 2013 in West Valley City, Utah. Born April 22, 1939 in Lehi, Utah to David Elroy and Ora Almeda Gray Davis. Raised in Magna, UT and graduated from Cyprus High School in 1957. While there she participated on the Women's Diving Team as a Swim Timer and was a member of the Color Guard. She married the handsome guy with the white 57 Chevy convertible, Alan Robinson Aldous, November 14, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they opened and ran the Hunter Pharmacy Drug Store while raising their young family. Deniece had a lifetime of service in the LDS Church, holding ward and stake positions in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society. Her favorite was being a Visiting Teacher. She enjoyed needle work, quilting, collecting dolls and is lovingly known as the "Sticker Grandma". Survived by her husband, Alan; 4 children: Brenda (Evan) Nethercott, Lorie Johnson, Paul (Sharla) Aldous and Carrie (Richard) Hanks; 14 exceptional grandchildren; 1 precious great-grandson; brother Elwood (Marilyn) Davis; sisters JoAnn (Kirt) Lamb, Cleo (Merrill) Anglesey; brother-in-law Glen Brock. Preceded in death by parents; brother Erland Davis; sister Cleora Brock; niece Suzann Anglesey Weston. A very special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Hunter Hollow Rocky Mountain Care Center for their kindness and exceptionally compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Granger West 7th Ward, 4460 Cortney Dr. (2800 S.). Viewings will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Deniece (our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend) wished donations be made to the General Missionary Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
