Dennis B. Todd OUR HERO The Todd s have lost their anchor and hero. Dennis B. Todd, born June 3, 1940, passed away December 11, 2011 of a sudden heart attack. Denny married the love of his life, Sharon (Shu) Slaymaker, June 30, 1962. He will be missed by his loving wife and their 3 children, Michael Todd (Michelle), Denise Farnworth, Blaine Todd (Bobbie), and a chosen son, Donald Moerman ( Jr. ). Denny adored being a grandpa to his 6 grandchildren. He seldom missed ball games, bowling, school activities and graduations. Anything the grandkids did Denny tried to be there. With Denny as the leader of the pack, the Todd family enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, bowling and golfing together. Denny spent 40+ years bowling. On May 29, 2007, with his son and grandson anxiously watching, he achieved his dream of bowling the allusive perfect game. Denny worked for Peterson Development as the Field Superintendent for 27 years, retiring in 2007. He had a passion for his job and a deep affection for the people he worked with. He enjoyed his short retirement by taking up the game of golf. Can t believe people chase a stupid white ball and call it a sport was a comment Denny would often say, but he fell in love with the game. For the past 4 years Denny and Shu have spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona, where they have developed wonderful friends from around the U.S. & Canada. Denny was a proud member of The Alano Club with a great achievement of 30 years of sobriety. He is survived by his brother, Gary Todd; sisters, Pat Howard (Bob) and Pam Wright. Preceded in death by his son, Denny Todd, Jr.; and his parents, Barney and Velma Todd. Services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011, 1:00 pm at Taylorsville Paradise Ward, 1555 West Lovely Road (5178 South) where a celebration of his life will be held immediately after.
