Dee was born in Fillmore, Utah to Florence and Alma Iverson After graduating from Millard High School, she moved to SLC and was employed at Sperry Rand, where she met her soul mate, Dent Mellen. Dee and Dent were married July 17, 1961, and have been inseparable for 55 years. They are the parents of two sons, David and Todd, and grandparents to Michael. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dee loved to travel. She and Dent spent three years in Germany and saw a different country every weekend, holiday or sick day. They River cruised Russia, cruised Hawaii, Mexico, Carribean, and motor homed the U.S., Mexico & Canada. She was so grateful to have seen so much world for a little girl from Fillmore. Her life was lived by kindness to others and she will be so missed by everybody that met her. The angels will be celebrating to welcome this special one back into their fold. We'll try not to grieve forever for her loss, but in time, smile for what was a beautiful life well lived. She is survived by her husband; sons; & grandson; brother Steve Iverson (Cindy); sisters Jilleen (Bill) and Pat Rhodes; and many nieces and nephews who were all her favorites. Dee was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jack and Dan; sisters Darnel, Meridean and Lora Lee. Our family is so grateful to the great people at Quality Hospice for their care in Dee's struggle. It was Dee's wish to be cremated.
