Don L. Herron was born in Garfield, Utah on July 4, 1924. He was raised in Magna, Utah and attended Webster Elementary and Cyprus High School and was on the track team. Don married Etha Schmidt April 28, 1943. They had five children: Larry (Chris) Herron, Roger Herron, Greg (Janet) Herron, Dawna (Harry Jr.) Herron Dunyon Sanfilippo and Shane (Larissa) Herron. Don was a World War ll Combat Veteran in the U.S. Army at the Battle of the Bulge 44th Division. He received the Purple Heart Ribbon, Bronze Star, and was MIA. He married Jeanne Thatcher Merrick and she had four children; Randy(Chris) Merrick, Linda Richards, Debbie Sorenson and Tami (Mike) Snarr. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanne; son Larry; great-great grandson Braison; granddaughter Annie Richards; his parents; and all of his siblings. He was the youngest of ll children. The family wishes to thank the services of hospice and the caregivers network as well as the V.A. Hospital staff for their love, care and support for our loved one. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 12:00 noon at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 25th, 10-11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Interment to follow.
