Donald Elmer Vail

Donald Elmer Vail was reunited with his beloved wife January 1, 2017. Don was born in Salt Lake City, December 7, 1936 to Elmer Alysworth and Kathryn LaRue Hansen Vail. He graduated from South High School and served his country honorably in the Korean War. Donald married Karen Annette Hopper July 18, 1963. He retired from Mountain Bell and Hercules. He loved to travel, camp, hunt and rodeo and most of all his family. He was preceded in death by his wife; granddaughter; parents; brothers; and sister. He is survived by his children, Terri Green, Jeff (Anna Marie), Cathy (Kenny) Hale; grandchildren Shawni (Devin) Packer, Justin (Kylee) Green, Derric Hale, Tori (Caleb) Baird, Brandi Carling, Marti Vail; and great-grandchildren, Indie Packer and Kenidy Green; and a great-grandson due in April. Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017, 12:00 p.m., at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. Under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.
