Donald R Anderton Wind Beneath our Wings Don Anderton passed away peacefully while surrounded by a loving family at home last Wednesday evening. He celebrated his 80th birthday this year. Don was born in Cedarview, Utah to Reed and Thelma Anderton. He served his country faithfully as a member of the USAF during the Korean Conflict and continued to love and defend our flag and all it symbolizes throughout his entire life. He was a company man devoted to his long time employer Frontier Airlines. He enjoyed a retirement job as a bus driver for Granite School District. He then served for many years as a service missionary in the Salt Lake Central City Mission, Cannon 1st Ward. Don was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served as a Bishop, in Stake Presidencies and numerous other callings. He is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Lorraine; daughters: Jolyn, Sharlyn, and Stacie Sheehy (Steve); sons: Steve (Kim) and Kyle (Brandi). He is also survived by a special niece, Lori Kaizer, who spent her teen years living in the Anderton home. Other survivors are sisters, Bertha Kramer, Lorraine Workman; his brothers, Val, Bruce and Gary. He leaves behind a large extended family that always looked to him as their rock. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lena McDonald, JoAnn Banning and Bonnie Stoneberg; his brother, Kent. Don and Lorraine had 13 grandchildren who are the light of their lives. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Tyler and Tara Sheehy who have now joined their grandpa in a happy reunion. He was a friend to all, servant to many, and the best dad anybody could ask for. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 15, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 25th Ward, 4505 South 3420 West. Viewings will be Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Wednesday at the Church from 9:45-10:40 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
