With tender hearts we announce the passing of our cherished wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Mom lost her valiant fight with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, Friday, March 6, 2015 peacefully, with her family gathered by her side. Mom was born April 25, 1942 in Pioche Nevada, to Norval B. and Remona I.(Donna) Daniels Unthank. Moved to Kearns, Utah and graduated from Granger High School in 1960. She graduated from Darrell's College of Beauty in 1961. This same year she competed in and was awarded the title of Miss Kearns, representing her city in the Miss Utah competition. Genuine beauty and grace. She married her high school sweetheart and Love of her Life, Jerry Orton, August 17, 1962 in the Manti Temple, establishing their Legacy of Love as an Eternal one. Mom had a beautiful, soprano voice. She sang solos and with choirs throughout her life and made our home happy with song. Each child and grandchild will remember her lullabies, selected hymns and other favorites being sung or hummed. She was also a talented seamstress, exceptional cook, enjoyed good books and writing. Mom loved dancing! On the dance floor (and off) she and dad were a handsome, impressive "made for each other" couple! Mom was an active participant in our schools, serving on PTA boards and as president. An enthusiastic supporter of our endeavors. Always there for us. Mom worked as a dental assistant, cosmetologist and at ZCMI; but above all she loved her role as Mother, Grandma and Great-grandma. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Donna served in many callings. She and dad served a Church Mission for LDS Employment Services. Mom loved meeting, serving and helping people. She loves sharing her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and did so often in both word and deed. Mom's top priority was always family. She loved being with and spending time with them. Favorite family times included road trips, Grandma days, vacations, foreign travel, cruises, four wheeling, boating, family time at the cabin, and every type of family celebration. Donna will be greatly missed by Jerry, her husband of 52 years; 3 children, Michael (Penny) Orton, Shawn (Charisse) Orton, Jaime (Russ) Losee; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Chris Unthank; sister, Netta Langston and their families. All who were loved by, and who loved this beautiful lady, will continue to feel her positive influence throughout their lives. She shared her love with all those around her. We love her always and forevercan hardly wait to be with her again! Donna was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015, 12:00 noon at the Bennion 2nd Ward, 6100 South Kamas Dr. (2480 W.)
