Donna Mae Hawkins Hall 1926 ~ 2011 Donna Mae Hawkins Hall passed away on December 24, 2011 in Salt Lake City due to causes incident to age. She was born on May 9, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Buckwalter and Lydia Mahala Osguthorpe Hawkins. Married Heber Thomas Hall, Jr. on September 16, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 55 years. She was a proud graduate of Brigham Young University. She taught elementary school in Salt Lake and Murray School Districts for more than 30 years. She cherished her relationship with her students and her fellow teachers. Her children are especially grateful for her creating an atmosphere of education and work as they grew up. Enjoyed watercoloring, playing bridge and spending time with her family. Heber and Donna enjoyed traveling to see the beautiful areas of the world, especially spending time in Hawaii. They loved following their Cougars wherever they traveled. Donna was instrumental in establishing the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Museum in St. George. She valued her relationship with her fellow members. Active member of the LDS Church having faithfully served in many callings, including Relief Society, Primary and Young Women organizations. Heber and Donna served a stake mission at the St. George Visitor s Center. She is survived by her three children: Craig (Robyn), Barry (Donna) and Christy (Doug); 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; her brother, Norman Hawkins. Preceded in death by her husband, Heber; sisters, Virginia Southgate, Maureen Koch; brother, John Bernarr Hawkins. Funeral services will be Friday, December 30, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville 25th Ward located at 4505 South Brian s Way (3420 West). Viewings will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and on Friday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund or the charity of your choice.
