Doris Lynnea Nisonger Alsop
Our beloved mother and grandmother died at home, on Thursday December 22, at 1:45 pm. She was the only daughter born to George David Nisonger and Rose Lynnea Peterson on September 22, 1936.
She lived and attended schools in Tooele, Utah. She met and married her one true love and sweetheart Hugh Hatch Alsop on December 26, 1958. They later were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1959. Together they raised four children, Shannon A Brailsford (deceased October 16, 2020), Cheryl A LaSalle, West Jordan, Utah, Darla Alsop, Salt Lake City, Utah, Bradley Hugh Alsop (deceased December 19, 1975).
Music has always been her passion. She and her sweetheart sang many duets together. We were lucky to hear their beautiful voices on so many occasions. She sang soprano and he sang bass, blended so beautifully. They were members of the Oratorio Society of Utah. Beyond their yearly Christmas Messiah concert, in the Tabernacle. They traveled to various places including Israel and Canada, for concerts.
She worked various positions over the years and retired as a secretary at the Tooele Army Depot. She enjoyed her retirement singing, crafting, crocheting, gardening and community service. She has struggled with Dementia and Alzheimer's for over twenty years.
In her declining years, we are grateful for the many caregivers and helpers along the way. In this last year, we are thankful for the added assistance of Envision Hospice and her loving ward neighborhood goddess squads, for their service.
She is now reunited in the loving arms of all those who have gone before her. She is survived by her two daughters and five grandchildren: Daniel Jacobs, Linnea, Alyssa, Brian, Laura Brailsford.
Funeral services will be Tuesday December 27, at 12:30, at the Willow Crest Ward 5980 S 1300 W, Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing will be held at the same location prior to the funeral from 11:15 to 12:15. Interment will be at the Tooele City Cemetery.
