Doris Burgess

December 23, 1930 — August 28, 2024

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants (Psalms 116:15).

On 08/28/2024 Doris Marie Burgess, beloved matriarch of our family, graduated to her glorious, eternal home. She would express it this way: "My obituary says I am dead, but don't believe it! I am now in Heaven with Jesus and more alive than I have ever been! If you must shed tears, shed tears of joy and please receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior so you can come and join me here. I have lived a blessed and happy life with a loving family and friends.

I have been abundantly blessed with my daughters, Debra Barker (Steve) and Rebecca Keyes; grandchildren: Dawn Pupua (Isi), Chris Rogers (Jackie), Natalie Mackay (Justin) and Benjamin Conner (Tiffany); great-grandchildren Saia Pupua (Jacinee), Isabella Pupua, Carly Mackay, Owen Conner, Ashlyn Mackay, Luke Conner, and one great-great grandchild, Makani Dawn Pupua. Preceded in death by husband Warren G. Burgess in October, 1971.

Mom was born in Emporia, Kansas on December 23, 1930. In 1935 her family moved to Goshen, California. Mom and Dad (Warren G. Burgess) married on April 12, 1949, and moved to Visalia, California where their daughters were born. We moved to Magna, Utah in October of 1962. She moved to West Valley City, Utah in March 2013, where she enjoyed her community and lived out the rest of her life.

Mom was loved by all who knew her. She was always there to meet whatever needs that her family had. We know that when she entered heaven she was greeted with " Well done, My good and faithful servant." She truly was an example of how to live a good and Godly life.

We as her family would like to thank Utah Home Health and Hospice, everyone that worked with us and mom were amazing. Thank you for your loving care of mom these last days. You were amazing in this difficult time.

She will be greatly missed but always living on in our hearts.

Please join us for her Celebration Of Life service at 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Grace Baptist Church, 4737 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah.

Light meal will be served after the service.
