Doris Mable Pritchett

February 7, 1926 — May 27, 2018

Our loving, devoted little Mom, Doris Mable Hansen Pritchett, let go from her fight of the past 2 years and joined many waiting family and friends Sunday evening, May 27, 2018, at the age of 92. Her strength and determination to get well enough, return to her own home and spend more time with her family is inspiration to us all. She was born on February 7, 1926 to Albin Hansen and Lyda Marie Ekker. She was raised in Heber City, Utah along with her 2 brothers Gale and Leon, and her dear sister Margaret (Lucas). She attended K-12 in Heber and graduated from Wasatch High School. Her first job was as a telephone operator in Heber, where she worked until she was hired as an operator in SLC. She married Thomas Leighton Pritchett in October of 1950. They raised their 3 children, Michael, Barry and Kathleen in Kearns, Utah. Doris and Leighton divorced in 1979. Mom continued to live in her home in Kearns, where she was an active member of the LDS church. She served as Ward Chorister, alongside her sister Margaret as the Organist for over 40 years. In 1979, she began working at Hercules as PBX Operator. She was the Assistant Head Operator when she retired in 1992. Mom loved music, reading and the Utah Jazz. She was an amazing knitter, crocheter and gardener. She leaves behind her 3 children Michael, Barry, and Kathleen; 5 grandchildren, Danie (Melanie) Pritchett, Marc (Ashlie) Pritchett, Laura Pritchett, Nikki (Ryan) Black, and Stephen Simmons; 4 great-grandchildren, Hunter Pritchett, Ethan, Brynn, and Asher Black.
