Dorothy (Dottie) Reed Winrow passed away on December 7, 2019 at the age of 80. She had a special bond with her son, Mike, who passed two hours later from a valiant battle with cancer.
On July 16, 1966 she married Elmer Winrow and they quickly became a family of ten. She was an amazing wife and mother and took on the challenge with great strength. She and Elmer enjoyed many great adventures together, including traveling to car shows in their dandy 1957 red and white Chevy and her “Lady Luck” Oldsmobile, trips to Nevada where she spent countless hours at the 21 table and camping with her family and friends. She would play many competitive hands of Uno with Elmer, each claiming that the other cheated!
Dottie was joined each week for lunch by her longtime friends, the Golden Girls. Another weekly date was with her hairdresser, Linda Stone, who made her beautiful for over 50 years!
She was a strong woman who spoke her mind. You knew if you were in trouble, and you knew that she loved you dearly. She was generous to a fault and put others needs above her own. Her and Elmer opened their home to many who needed a place to stay.
Survived by children, Linda Winrow, Don (Jacquie) Winrow, Connie Edmund, Kathy (Jack) Petersen, Joe (Cindy) Winrow; many grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including nephew Lee Winrow who lived with them during the growing up years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; brothers Lee, Don, and Jerry; daughters Vickie Elzinga and Karla Winrow; and son, Mike.
