Edith Thompson Crossley 1928 ~ 2013 Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Edith Crossley, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, July 21, 2013. She was born December 2, 1928 to Karl Albert and Bertha Ella Woodruff Brough Thompson. She married her sweetheart, Darrel Young Crossley, September 25, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They shared a great love for each other and were together for more than 55 years. She served in leadership positions in many auxiliaries in the LDS Church and worked many years for Granite School District Food Services. She loved camping, singing, dancing, playing the violin and sports, and was famous for her fast-pitch softball skill. She dedicated her life to serving others. Family and friends were her joy. Preceded in death by her husband, Darrel; brother Richard; daughter-in-law Sue Jean Crossley. Survived by children Richard (Cheryl), Ilene Johnson, Beverly (Keith) Averett, Paul (Kathy), Gary, Kevin (Carmelita); 32 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings Chloe Ellis, Lloyd Thompson, Merle Jean Gardner. Her s was a life well lived and a family well loved. The family expresses deep gratitude to Majestic Care Center and Good Shepherd Hospice. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2013, at noon at the Jordan Oaks 4th Ward, 9353 Judd Ln (3730 W.). Viewings will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd and Friday at the church, 10-11:30 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
