Edwin John Beratto, age 96 passed away peacefully on Friday, May 4, 2018. He was born January 12, 1922 in Riverton, Utah to Albert and Florence ( Steadman) Beratto. After graduating from Jordan High School, he served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Beatrice Smith on December 16, 1955 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on October 14, 1957. Ed worked in the Butterfield Canyon Mine, the Utah Poultry and Kennecott Copper until his retirement. He loved fishing , hunting, camping with his family, working in his yard and taking care of his vegetable garden, but the thing he loved most was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed is survived by two daughters, D'An (Gary) Wadsworth and Sue (Mark) Buhler; six grandchildren Nicci, Jim, Lynzee, Jamie, Jason, and Jeff; 13 great grandchildren; sister Juanita (Norman) Rees and brother Harold (Kathy) Beratto, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Bea; his parents, and siblings Raymond, Joyce , and Lawrence. A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Hunter 2nd Ward House, 3970 South 5200 West, West Valley City, with a viewing 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
