Elaine Jackson, age 80, died May 28, 2024, at West Jordan, Utah. She was born March 20, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the fourth and final child of Chester William Browning and Lovera Kinghorn Browning. She married Farrell K Adamson on August 4, 1961. After her divorce with Farrell in 1987, she married Douglas L Jackson on April 10, 1992, in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Despite the challenges of combining two families when marrying Doug, she loved Doug's children and to the very end wanted them to feel her love for them and their father.
Elaine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many different callings. She was particularly fond of her time with the young women and serving in the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandma, and spouse. She often commented that she lived for her boys and followed them around in all their activities, especially their sports. The loud voice in the stands would have been our mother, she was our biggest supporter. She expected all her boys to be responsible and taught them many life skills. She also taught us to look beyond the outer shell of a person and attempt to find the good in people. She was a dedicated employee wherever she worked, often managing business offices. She cherished her posterity and was always reminding anyone who would listen of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed decorating her house for all holidays and seasons; if there was a crafty endeavor she was up for the challenge.
She is survived by her sister Zelda Thompson, of Redding, California, her children, Kerry (Dora) Adamson, of Kennewick, Washington, Jeff (Derena) Adamson, of Hurricane, Utah, Bartt (Roxanna) Adamson, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Nate (Pamela) Adamson, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Scott (Melissa) Adamson, of West Valley City, Utah, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas L Jackson, her parents Chester and Lovera Browning, her brother Lynn Browning, her sister Joyce Duncan, her daughter Terry Lynn Adamson, and her grandson Pierce Jeffery Adamson.
