Elda Starr Casper Grooms, 87, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Taylorsville, Utah. Born January 29, 1936, to Charles Elden Casper and Elsie Wagstaff Casper of Daniels, Utah. Married Boyden William Grooms on September 28, 1956, in the Salt Lake Temple. They built a home in Kearns, Utah where they spent most of their 39 years together. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1996. Later she had a special friend Theron Obray with whom she had many adventures. Traveling and spending time with him and his family at his cabin at Bear Lake. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2014.
For the last several years she has spent many hours volunteering at the Kearns Senior Center. Planning their parties and enjoying the many friendships she made there. She also enjoyed her time as a Red Hatter. She was always all about having fun, laughing, and spending time with family and friends. She will be deeply missed, especially her laughter.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Brian Grooms, her sisters Connie Montgomery, Marion Isi, her brother Darwin Casper, and her friend Theron Obray. Survived by her Children: Robyn (Jerry) Crofts, Tammy Phillips, 9 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Taylorsville 17th Ward Chapel located 3676 West 4700 South Taylorsville, Utah. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. And at the church on Friday 1 hour (10:00 a.m.) before services. Burial in the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery.
