Elizabeth, our wee tartan hobbit, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 21, 2015 at the age of 65. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She was gracious, warm, kind and with a loving spirit to all who met her. Elizabeth was born, December 18, 1949 to George and Emily Ewart McKelvie in Saltcoats Ayrshire, Scotland. In Scotland she had a large, loving family. She went to Adrossan Academy and at the age of 17, she emigrated to America all by herself to Shawnee Mission, Kansas as a nanny. She then went to be with her older sister in Salt Lake City. She was joined by her father, mother and younger brother and sister. In 1969 she met her soul mate and married Clair Fifield on February 12, 1970. They were married for 45 glorious years. They were always adventurous and enjoyed hiking and camping and climbed the highest mountain in Utah, "Kings Peak." They loved to travel to Japan, Hawaii, most of North America, England and her beloved Scotland many times. Elizabeth worked for UPS for 31 years, starting as a shipping clerk up to a Sales Rep, and a Supervisor in Customer Service. She loved her work and the people she worked with and they loved her back. Elizabeth loved to cook for her family and friends. She cooked Scottish soup, Scottish spaghetti, Scottish tacos, and Scottish etc. Her passion was her home, her wee butt and ben. She enjoyed decorating and making her home warm and inviting to all who came in. She believed in a loving, comfortable place for all who came into her home. Her passion also was her garden which she loved to watch flowers and plants grow and thrive. Survived by husband, Clair; daughter Emily (Clint) Burmingham; sons Thomas, Ben (Thao) Fifield; grandchildren: Cassie, Dallon, Kiersten, Chantry, Alyssa and Evan; two brothers George and Dennis; two sisters Annette and Sandra; many nieces and nephews and cousins all over the world. Preceded in death by parents, George and Emily McKelvie. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 11:00 a.m. at Granger West 9th Ward, 4460 West Courtney Drive (2800 South). Viewing will be held Monday, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Tuesday 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
