Elmer James Winn

Elmer James Winn May 27, 1943 ~ October 17, 2012 Our beloved husband, father, and grandpa, Elmer James Winn, 69, returned to his Heavenly Father after his courageous battle with heart disease. Elmer James Winn was born in Richfield, UT, where he later met his sweetheart, Norma Peterson. They were married on June 29, 1961 and later sealed in the Jordan River LDS Temple. They were married 51 wonderful years in which they enjoyed their children and many grandchildren. He had an unbelievable love and talent for gardening. He was always so giving to family and friends. He will be dearly missed. Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Norma Peterson Winn; son, Steve (Holly) Winn; daughter, Janice (Jeff) Bringhurst; 10 beloved grandchildren: Whitney (Mike) Ludlow, Steven, Bunnie, Nicholas and Shelby Winn; Kyle, Tyler, Adam, Michael and Jacob Bringhurst. Siblings: Della Mae (Verdi) Rasmussen and Terry (Nola) Winn; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Heap and Eliza Mae Winn; son, Michael James Winn; brothers, Roger, Bruce, Russel and Virgil Winn. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2012, 12:00 noon at the Harman Ward, 4634 West Harman Drive (3700 South). Viewings will be Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday, at the church from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
