Emory Verl Robinson

Emory Verl Robinson, 82, was called home to his Heavenly Father and many other loved ones on January 30, 2020, following a short time with cancer.

Emory was born July 1, 1937 in Hillard, Wyoming during the worst blizzard of the year, to William Theodore Robinson and Sarah Beatrice Gibson Robinson. It also snowed the day that he passed away.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in the Eastern States Mission. Emory served in many callings including five Bishoprics before becoming Bishop of the 25^th Ward. He also served four missions with his wife Kay.

He married Kay Frances Moon Robinson September 15, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised 6 children: Scott – West Valley City, Utah, Lorri Lindhart (Ted, - St. George, Utah, Trina Roettger (Robert, deceased) – West Valley City, Utah, Kevin (Heidi Lowe) - Bloomfield, New Mexico, Janna Shell (David) – West Valley City, Utah, and Brett (Wendi) – Magna, Utah.

Emory worked for 31 years for the Granite School District and 48 years part time work for Ferrin/Beacon Metals Company.

Emory is survived by his wife Kay; and all their six children; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother Wayne (Ronnie); sister Doris Scott; and sister-in-law Alice Robinson.

Emory was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers George, Henry and Lyle; sisters, Ila Koeford and Ruby Hall; brothers-in-law, Glade Hall, Lynn Kofoed, Dick Scott; sister-in-laws, Louise Robinson and Sylvia Robinson; grandson, Conner Robinson; and great-grandson Adrian Luke Barrera.

Emory will be missed but will always be in our hearts.

A viewing will be held Monday, February 3, 2020 from 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 4^th, 11:00 a.m. at the Decker Lake Ward building, 2101 West 3100 South, West Valley City, Utah, where a viewing will precede services from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Road.
