Eric Vincent Lobato 1970 ~ 2011 Eric Vincent Lobato, son, father, brother, uncle and inspiration to many, passed away peacefully September 24, 2011 after a long, courageous fight with lupus. Born September 19, 1970 in Denver, Colorado to Ralfie Kinder and Eric Lobato. Married to Leah Ann Duran, later divorced. God blessed them with two beautiful sons, Angel and Andres. Raised and educated in Salt Lake City, graduated from Taylorsville High School and Salt Lake Community College. Survived by his mother, Ralfie (Dale) Kinder and father, Eric (Barbara) Lobato; sons, Angel and Andres; sister, Monica (Daniel) Berber; nephew, Dominik Christensen; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his grandmother, Tomasita Aguayo; grandfather, Isaac Lovato; and numerous relatives. Vince enjoyed numerous activities and adventures. Some of his greatest passions were snow boarding, roller skating to which he was on a skating team, skate boarding and music of all genres. He was an avid collector of music and books, had a great sense of humor, a big smile for everyone, and enriched the lives of those he encountered. He had a love for art, which he proudly displayed on many parts of his body, of which his immense pride in his Chicano heritage played part. Most of all Vince loved his two children, Angel and Andres. In spite of the many problems he endured with his health, he never faltered, never wavered, and displayed only the utmost strength and courage. Never allowing his burdens to interfere with the life he was so determined to live, his strength and fortitude will continue to inspire his family, friends and all those in this time of need. He will be a beacon for those who knew him and will continue to lead by his example. Friends and family may call Wednesday, September 28, 2011, 6:00 p.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 S. 2200 W., Taylorsville, UT where Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, September 29, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 4th Avenue T St., SLC, UT. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. Special thanks to Dr. Majid Moshifar, staff of Moran Eye Center, Dr. James Stinson, and staff of IMC. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lupus Foundation, Kidney Foundation, and Moran Eye Center are appreciated. Carpe Diem.
