Erna Meta Rolfson

Our loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend returned home to Heavenly Father on December 8, 2019. She was born on August 30, 1948 in Lemburg, Germany. She has re-joined her sweetheart, Gordon, her brothers, Fritz & August, and her parents, Ernestina & August Anderje.

She is survived by her son Frank Rolfson, her daughter Petra Rolfson, her dog Taco, her sisters, Sonja & Rosi, her brother Gerhard, and remaining family in Germany, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

While she was in the United States for well over 35 years, she always kept her strong German accent. Erna came to the United States where she worked as a seamstress at Catalina for nearly 20 years, meeting her lifelong best friend, Joyce, who introduced her to the love of her life, Gordon. They raised their families together.

Erna loved baking, sewing, crocheting, and her geraniums, but her biggest passion was her family. Erna will be remembered and missed by so many people. She was the light in our lives.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Friday December 20, 2019 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, UT. There will be a graveside service held at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 am, 17111 So. 1700 W. Bluffdale, UT. Next to Camp Williams.
