Esther Donnette Matson

"Auntie Easter"

Our sweet and gentle mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend joined her husband in eternity on March 25, 2025, after a struggle with an ongoing illness.

Esther was born on June 28, 1963, to Don R. Robinson and Vernadeen Robinson in Cedar City, Utah.

Our Mom had a tender and loving heart and a welcoming, bright smile. She was always there when you needed someone to listen, or just a shoulder to cry on. Mom delighted in time spent visiting with others and could easily spend hours on the phone with a family member or friend, just catching up or talking about nothing at all.

Esther possessed a special love for her children and grandchildren. She held a special joy in her heart for children and babies.

Esther had a great passion for painting ceramics, cooking, and canning foods. She was famous for her Easter candy cookies, bread pudding, salsa, homemade BBQ Sauce, homemade pickle relish & jalapeno jelly.

Esther was known by many as "Aunt Easter", and "Grandma Easter", because "Esther" was too hard to say for her little ones. The cherished nickname stuck and has remained all these years.

Our Mom was an affectionate goofball, and a treasure. There is no way to fill the void she is leaving behind her. We Love you, Mom. We will keep you tucked in our hearts and minds. We will speak of you often and think of the many good and fun times we shared.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Royal Matson, her father Don, Mother Vernadeen, brothers Rex, Don, and her precious grandbabies: Little Ryker, "Baby Matson', and Liam Matson.

Esther is survived by her children: John A. (Krystal), Jason R. (Marie-Rosanna), James R. (Trina), Mathew R. (Lindsey), Adam R, Michael L., and Richard Royal Matson; her grandchildren: Gracie, Pierce, Samantha, Beca, Brooklyn, Serenaty, Kylie, Kamron, Casey Matson, Zoey, Zayden, and Zion; her great-grandchildren: Chris, Roland, Kendrick, Declan, and Paisley; and her brothers and sisters: she had many of both, all of whom she cherished.
