Ethel Dorothea Roberg

December 18, 1934 — November 4, 2015

Surrounded by family, whom she loved so much, Ethel Dorothea Boelter Roberg returned to her heavenly home on November 4, 2015, after her difficult but brave battle with cancer. Passing away short of her 81st birthday, Ethel was born on December 18, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah much to the delight of her parents, William and Alma Boelter and her brother, Harold. She shared many happy memories of her growing up years with her children and grandchildren. After serving a full-time mission to Frankfurt Germany, she married William Roberg in the Salt Lake Temple on October 21, 1966. Bill was the love of her life and she enjoyed doting on him. They started their family in 1968 when they welcomed daughter, Rebecca and then in 1970, daughter Melanie. Her three favorite things in life were her family, music, and serving others. Her family could always count on a treat each holiday and traditions were a staple and something she always made sure came to pass. Many a night you could find at least one grandchild having a sleep over with grandma and she treasured every moment she spent with all her family. She played the organ at the Salt Lake Temple for nearly 15 years and it thoroughly broke her heart when she had to give that up because of her health. She shared her love of music with family and friends as often as she could. Ethel was extremely service oriented and you could often find her taking meals to neighbors, offering a listening ear and giving her utmost effort to her callings. Four days before her passing found her surrounded by the people she and Bill Home/Visit taught in their living room so she could give one last lesson. She is survived by her husband William; daughters Rebecca (Russ), and Melanie (Manuel); 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2:00 p.m. at the Cannon 7th Ward, 934 West Fremont Avenue (1120 South), where viewings will be held Friday, 6-8:00 p.m. and again Saturday, 1-1:45 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home. Place of Birth:Salt Lake City, UtahPlace of Death:Salt Lake City, Utah
