Eva Loy Peterson passed away peacefully at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving spouse and family. Eva Loy was born, Jan. 1, 1932, in Fairview, Utah, the sixth of eight children, daughter of Maitland Graham and Marcella Lasson. At the age of 17, Eva Loy was crowned Miss Fairview for which she was very proud and honored. She learned the value of hard work being raised on a farm and loved to ride horses. At age 19, she married Dale Washburn of Wales, Utah, Nov. 2, 1951, in the Manti LDS Temple. They had two sons and one daughter. On Nov. 18, 1962, Dale passed away. She later remarried Howard W. Peterson on March 1, 1967, who was a widower with one son. Together they had one son and one daughter. Eva Loy loved her family and dear husband. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with the family. She remained a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous callings in the church. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary (Sharon) Washburn; and grandchildren, Zachary Baird, and Chelsea Washburn; She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Howard W. Peterson; sons, Mark (Linda), Steve (Elizabeth) and Glen (Diane); daughters, Teresa (Steve), and Shauna (Mike); siblings, Kenneth Graham, Gaylen Graham, Allie Stapleton, and Beverly Staker; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A public viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, in Taylorsville. A second viewing will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m., with a funeral to follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22, at McDougal Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at the Wales, Utah Cemetery.
