Faydeen Betty Carroll Record passed from this life peacefully on August 25, 2023, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born on April 1, 1935, to Vincent John Carroll and Viona Hilda Johnson Carroll in Los Angeles, California. She was raised in Inglewood, California and graduated from Inglewood High School. She was the second of five children, all of whom have predeceased her, Cecil, John, Mary and Larry Don. She married her soulmate Arthur Julius Record on August 2, 1955. They were married for 58 years when Arthur passed away in 2013. They lived for 35 years in Los Angeles, California, where they raised their 5 children together, Ronald (Debbie Smith), Kenneth (Andrea Hufsky), Arleen (Keith Redmond), Shannon (Kurt Lysy) and Cathy (Fernando Barranco).
After 35 years she and Arthur moved to Apple Valley, California, for 16 years, then briefly moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, and spent 14 years in Meridian, Idaho, near 2 of their children. She spent the final years of her life living with her oldest daughter in Riverton, Utah. She was blessed with a total of 22 grandchildren, 3 of which have predeceased her, and 19 great-grandchildren with 1 great-grandchild on the way. All of her children and grandchildren were the light and life in her heart. Her kindness and devotion to them will forever endear her to their hearts. She loved being around them and listening to and participating in the events of their lives
Betty was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. She loved and served many people everywhere she went. She especially loved genealogy, and was able to travel the U.S., Australia, Scotland, Ireland, and England discovering facts and documents relating to her family history. She was devoted to going to the temple and doing the work of the Lord. She was an amazing cake decorator and sometimes decorated wedding cakes for her friends and clown cakes for her children. She was a voracious reader and loved to sew. She made clothes for her children through-out their growing up years. She loved to crochet and made each of her grandchildren at least one receiving blanket and sewed at least one hooded towel.
She was beloved by anyone who knew her, and will be sorely missed.
