Flora Bird Fifield Sjoberg

Flora Sjoberg died February 18, 2014, at the age of 95, in South Ogden, Utah of causes incident to age. She was born March 23, 1918 in Logan Utah, a daughter of Hyrum John and Margaret Ellen Bird Smith. Her Father, Hyrum, passed away when she was very young. Her mother married Jesse Harold Fifield and Flora used Fifield as her name. She was reared and educated in Logan, Utah. Flora married the love of her life, Edward Jones Sjoberg, on November 22, 1939. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 12, 1940. She was a member of the South Ogden 5th Ward and served in many positions over the years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Centennial. She served as a registration agent and as a Judge in political elections for many years. She was an officiator in the Ogden Temple for twenty years and after her release, she attended the temple twice a week for as long as her health permitted. Flora was an amazing seamstress which included her and Ed making dolls for the Humanitarian Center up until their time in the care center. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, canning, homemaking and being of service to others. Flora is survived by 4 sons and 1 daughter: Duane Grant (Sondra), Donald Ray (Edie), Linda Jean (Craig) Russell, Glen Edward (Carolyn), and Jay Allen Sjoberg; a large prosperity of 22 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Edward just 4 months ago; and 2 daughters, Sharon Martin and Gayle King. The family would like to thank Manor Care and Legacy Hospice for their love and care of Flora prior to her death. Instead of flowers, please make a contribution to the Primary Children's Hospital in Flora's name. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the South Ogden 5th Ward, 4380 Orchard Ave., South Ogden UT 84403, where a viewing will be held 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
