Frank Paul Turner May 11, 1924 ~ May 24, 2012 Frank Paul Turner, 88, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born on May 11, 1924 in Montrose, Colorado, to Joseph Paul and Mary Larsen Turner. His father passed away when he was 11 years old, and he and his 3 siblings, Helen, Alice, and Donald moved with their mother to Provo, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during WWII, and was stationed in England. When he returned from war, he attended BYU and earned a B.S. And M.S. in Geology. While attending BYU, he met Virginia May Price, who became his wife. Together they raised five children, Mary Catherine (Hall) of Roy, Utah, Paul Douglas Turner of El Cajon, CA, Dixon Price Turner ( deceased), Mark Alan Turner of Brentwood, MD, and Barbara Lee Turner, of Fruitland, UT. He worked as a petroleum geologist for 45 years, which took him to Alaska, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. He traveled for his field work, but always found time to be a wonderful father. He had a great sense of humor, which he transferred to his children along with a good work ethic. He proudly served in the Army Reserves for 30 years serving during the Korean and Viet Nam War attaining the rank of Major. His service took him to the Pentagon, and he enjoyed visiting the Washington D.C. Area. He also served on a LDS Stake Mission in Denver. After retirement, he became more active with the LDS Church, serving as ward clerk, and served a second a Mission with LDS Membership Records Department He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and became a legendary prankster and storyteller. He is survived by his brother, Donald, his sister, Merlene, his four children, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild . Services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2012, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home at 4330 So. Redwood Rd.
