Fred was a slow, deliberate man who observed everything around him and remembered all he saw. The man could tell stories, over and over again. He enjoyed telling people about new places he had discovered. He wanted to share what he loved with everyone. He loved Alaska, good Barbeque, Mexican food, and sweets of all kinds. He loved cats and dogs almost as much as they loved him. His heart was so tender and if he loved and befriended you, he loved deeply and was always loyal.
Music, mostly rock, jazz- real jazz like Coltrane & Davis, and blues, touched his soul. He was a voracious reader and read a mix of genres. He often mixed his love of travel, nature, and photography together. People loved what he captured with his lens; he had a unique perspective and was very critical of what he produced.
He married the love of his life Sherry (Sher) Huss on May 26, 1990 and they became travelers and explorers looking for new adventures together, it was quite a ride. They went to as many National Parks as they could; 29 in the US and 6 in Canada. They both had an affinity for the history, art, and culture of the Hopi and Navajo Nations and collected western and southwestern art over the years.
